There are a range of different styles of sliding wardrobe doors and replacing an old looking sliding door to freshen up the look of a wardrobe will completely transform a room and is relatively simple.

Should an unfinished model be chosen, it will be easier to apply the finish before installing the door. While this is drying, the old doors can be removed. With most of the older types, this is simply a case of lifting the doors and swinging then out of their track.
Some models may have a kind of locking system where a lever has to be held down to remove doors, while others still may have to have the rollers lined up with cut-outs in the track. It really is a case of taking a look at the doors to find out for sure. The top track is then removed with a screw driver. The door guides at the bottom should not need to be replaced unless they are obviously damaged.
After ensuring the new track for the top is the right length (sometimes they have to be slightly shortened with a hacksaw), the new bracket is installed in the same position as the previous one. If necessary, mount the rollers on the new doors (many come with their rollers already in place) according to the manufacturers’ instructions and hang the doors onto the track.
